Handbook on Probate

The Continuing Legal Education Division of  the South Carolina Bar  has  published a handbook for personal representatives. Although it is designed to be of assistance to attorneys, it is written on a somewhat basic level and can be quite useful to anyone acting as a personal representative in South Carolina.

This is the same handbook that we give to our clients who are settling estates. We have a few extra handbooks.  If you are the personal representative of an estate who died a resident of and domiciled in the Hilton Head area, including Beaufort and Jasper Counties and are currently in the process of probating the estate, please email us and we will send you a free copy as long as quantities last.  Please include your name and address so that we can mail the handbook to you. Also, include the name of the probate court where the estate is being probated.  This is not a solicitation of business and no one will contact you except with regard to sending you the handbook.  Again, quantities are limited.

If you are not probating an estate in the Hilton Head area, you can obtain a copy from the Continuing Legal Education Division of the South Carolina Bar Association for $10.00 for a single copy.  The website for the South Carolina Bar is www.scbar.org.   When you get into the website go to the CLE (Continuing Legal Education) section and look under  publications dealing with probate and estate planning.  You will see the The South Carolina Personal Representative Handbook
listed for $10.00.  You will need a credit card and there will be some shipping costs.
